An almost quilt and a questionable apron... And a recipe!

Hello. I'm still plugging away at various projects here and don't have anything terrible exciting to share, but I was determined not to let more than a week go by without posting. :)

Also, to keep things simple tonight, I am going to do the caption thing. Here you go!

finished top again
The girly quilt top. I am so in love with this so far. I am planning to quilt in straight lines in the insides of each square instead of super wavy wiggly. We'll see.

backing
The back with a little stripey accent.

sunset the other night
Had to sneak this in because I really enjoyed this colorful sunset the other night. :)

rhubarb leaves
Making stamps for block printing. These are rhubarb leaves.

rhubarb stalks
These are rhubarb stalks.

strawberries and tops
Strawberries!

strawberry rhubarb pie apron
Aaaaaand this is what I ended up with. I am not totally in love with the final product. I really like the way everything printed, but I guess I am not crazy about the hugeness of everything. I don't know. I think this will end up in the shop soon so somebody who can love and appreciate it can have it...

Anyway, the whole reason I made it was for the just-ended Tie One On challenge which was to make a "Pie Makin' Apron" (how can you not love that?!) and part of the requirement was to submit your favorite pie recipe as well. So of course I am posting it here too:

recipe-card

If you go to the Flickr page of this photo and select "original size" it should be of sufficient quality to download and print onto a blank index card. Just so you know.

Alright, I have a bit more basement cleaning to do before I collapse, so I will say goodbye!

Yeah, what Meech said...whaddya mean "questionable"?? Girl, you are so talented.

The pie recipe looks yummy...wish I had rhubarb because that's the second recipe calling for rhubarb that I've seen from my blog pals. Whose beautiful handwriting is that?

The quilt is sooo sweet!

I love the stamps - they're brilliant! And the apron is super cute. Maybe a row of rhubarbs along the bottom would be less "big"? I think it's fine, though. :)

I love that apron. When are you selling and for how much? It reminds me of my favorite aunt. She use to make my strawberry rhubarb crisp and then I had a neighbor that I adored that use to make it for us during the holidays. Amber, I want that apron!!!

Meech - you were expecting something risqué? ;)

Meg - me too!

Teresa - that beautiful handwriting is a font: "Kathleenie Font". Sadly, nobody in my family has beautiful handwriting...

Patricia - Thank you! :)

Sherrie - I think the rhubarbs along the bottom would be much better. Thanks for liking it anyway though. ;)

Michelle - I will be putting it up in my shop over the weekend provided it goes through the wash without any fading or anything. It will be $28.00. Let me know if you're still interested and I'll tell you the second I am putting it up! :)
